Tracy's Music Studio

Welcome to Tracy's Music Studio!

Tracy Henriod grew up in Lewiston, Idaho participating in community musical theatre, concert bands, jazz bands, singing and playing the piano. Her love for music blossomed during these years and led her to the University of Idaho to study music from 2002 to 2011. Tracy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Music and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Idaho.

Upon finishing her undergraduate degree in 2007, Tracy was named a finalist for the Music Teacher’s National Association StAR Studio Teacher Fellowship Award. In 2007, she also received a gold medal at Musicfest Northwest (Spokane, Washington.) As a graduate student, Tracy was awarded a teaching assistantship and taught private lessons and introductory group piano classes to music majors and minors.

In July 2019, Tracy participated in Mélange Vienna, an intensive music course in Vienna, Austria. As a participant, Tracy had the opportunity to experience Vienna's rich history and present culture. The course included private lessons, master classes, lectures, German language classes and attending concerts and excursions. Tracy also had the privilege of performing in several important venues in Vienna, including the United Nations and Bösendorfer Recital Hall (located in the cellar of Mozart's apartment.)

Tracy currently teaches about 40 piano students. She is the former music specialist at Building Blocks Childcare Center in Pullman, Washington (October 2011-January 2024.) She is a former Kindermusik educator with 16 years' experience teaching research-based early childhood development preschool music and movement classes. Tracy is an active member of Music Teachers National Association and serves in her local chapter as the Music Literacy Program chair.

Through her studies in piano pedagogy and experience teaching piano for the past 20 years, Tracy has discovered that teaching is her passion. She enjoys working with students of all ages and experience levels.
